  HERWIG
   
    Robert L. Herwig, 64, of Somerset RD 7, died Feb. 24, 1989, at the
  Somerset Community Hospital.  Born June 30, 1924, in Meyersdale, son of the
  late Robert D. and Elizabeth (Kerschensteiner) Herwig.  Survived by his wife
  of 44 years, the former Hazel Menser, and three children: Joan A. Herwig of
  Woodstock, Md.; Mrs. Robert A. (Debra) Turner, Alexandria, Va.; and Robert
  A. Herwig of Jennerstown; also four grandchildren.  Brother of Mrs. Ruth
  Trimpey of Confluence;  Kenneth Herwig of Florida; Frederick Herwig of
  Friedens; Mrs. Larry (Marge) Younkin, Crescent City, Fla.;  Mrs. Betty Lou
  Atkins, Somerset; Lloyd Herwig of Friedens; Mrs. Shirley Lilliedahl of
  Lakeworth, Fla. and Mrs. Billy (Janet) Irwin of Fort Worth, Fla.  Member of
  the Geiger Church of the Brethren and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Somerset;
  retired employee of Bethlehem Steel Rod and Wire Mill, Johnstown; also
  plumbing and heating contractor.  Friends will be received Saturday and
  Sunday. 1-9 p.m. at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, where funeral
  service will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Gerald Deffenbaugh
  officiating.  Interment, Husband Cemetery.
