  MELVIN F. HETZ
  
    Melvin F. Hetz, 82, of Meyersdale RD 1 died August 19, 1978 at his
  home.  Born September 24, 1895 in Frostburg RD, he was a son of the late
  William and Margaret (Wilhelm) Hetz.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Alice Winebrenner.
    He is survived by these children: Charles Melvin Jr., Marshall, Marvin
  and Mrs. Dorothy Krause, all of Meyersdale RD 1; Raymond, Cleveland, Ohio;
  Kenneth, Johnstown; Mrs. Margaret Sagar, Cleveland, Ohio; and Mrs. Mary
  Murray, Garrett RD 1; 39 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.
    A brother of Mrs. Agnes Bowers of Carlisle, he was a prominent area
  farmer and a veteran of WW I.
    Friends were received at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where
  services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Ray Davis,
  officiating.  Interment, Union Cemetery.
