Hickok, of Kansas City, Mo., died at her home in that city, last Saturday, in the 61st year of her age, after a long illness caused by a tumor of the brain. She was the second daughter of the late David and Elizabeth Keim Lichty, and was born in Elk Lick Township, but grew to womanhood in Salisbury, where her parents located when she was but a little child. Her widowed sister, Annie, wife of the late Franklin P. Beachy, was with her when her earthly pilgrimage came to an end. It was while visiting relatives in Carleton, Nebraska, and vicinity, during her early womanhood, that Mrs. Hickok became acquainted with the young man who later became her husband, and also some years later became a very prominent physician and surgeon, well and favorably known by the writer, and also by many other readers of The Republican, as was also his late wife. For a number of years Dr. and Mrs. Hickok resided in Wichita, Kan., but later located in Kansas City, Mo. Deceased is survived by her husband, one son and one daughter, namely, Garrold, a Kansas City businessman, and Mrs. R. L. Felkner, of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is also survived by two grandsons, two brothers and two sisters. The surviving brothers are Ross Lichty, of Carleton, Nebraska, and Dr. Bruce Lichty, of Meyersdale. The sisters are Mrs. Annie Beachy, of Papillion, Nebraska, and Mrs. F. F. Petry, of Salisbury. Two brothers, Stewart and Harvey, died some years ago. Dr. Bruce Lichty went to Kansas City to attend the funeral, which took place on Monday afternoon, after which the body was placed in a mausoleum. Meyersdale Republican, July 21, 1932
