Hillegas, 85, South Fork RD 1, died May 25, 1990, at Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. He was born Feb. 6, 1905, in South Fork, son of Garnet T. and Savilla (Baumgardner) Hillegas. He was preceded in death by parents; wife, former Catherine Stiffler; daughter, Pauline J. Wingard; and two infant sons; also sister, Hazel Simmons and Mildred Croyle; and brother, Howard. He is survived by these children: Lois, wife of Joseph Belanto; Mike, married to former Gladys Chappell; and Pat, married to former Joanne Penatzer, all of South Fork RD 1; and Nadine Bailey, St. Michael; also 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. He was a brother of Audrey Reynolds, South Fork RD 1; Madeline Singer, Berlin; Bernard, New Albany, Ind.; Helen Blozevich, Annandale, Va.; and Dean, Floyds Knobs, Ind.; also nurse and friend, Jane. He was a painting contractor and owner and operator of Hillegas Painting and Paint Store; bus contractor with Forest Hills School District, both for over 55 years; member of South Fork Aerie 1585, F.O.E. Graduate of Berkley College; Harrisburg, Class of 1924. Friends were received at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, where funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, the Rev.
