Hillegas, 74, of Salisbury, died April 22, 2000, at her residence. Born July 5, 1925, in Rockwood, a daughter of the late Charles G. and Pauline (Haines) Gundrum. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gale L. "Mike" Hillegas, June 20, 1999; two sisters, Marian L. Black and Audrey Gundrum, and one brother, Charles F. Gundrum. Survived by son, Terry M. Hillegas and wife, the former Dawn Fike, Salisbury; daughter, Kathryn H. Aumiller and husband, Michael, Etters; brother, Eugene H. Gundrum, Pittsburgh; sisters, Helen G. Sprout, Picture Rocks, and Kathryn G. Schaft, Somerset; and was the beloved grandmother of Christine Aumiller, Anthony, Russel and Mariah Hillegas. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Salisbury, where she was a member of the choir, TTT Sunday School Class, Christian Education Board and served on the Consistory and as Sunday School Superintendent. She was also a member of Tub Mill Arts Association; Meyersdale Medical Center Auxiliary; Salisbury American Legion Auxiliary; Salisbury Firemen's Auxiliary; Salisbury 500 Club; RSVP volunteer; tax aid and arranged bus tours for Schrock's Sightseeing Tours. She retired from Meyersdale Area School District, where she taught commercial courses, having also taught in the Salisbury-Elk Lick School District for a combined total of 27 years. She was an avid golfer. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville, Md., from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. John's Church of Christ, Salisbury, with the Rev. Raymond Brown officiating. Interment, Salisbury Cemetery.
