Hillegas, 76, of Boynton died August 21, 1978, Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born October 3, 1901, in Boynton, he was a son of the late George and Elizabeth (May) Hillegas. He is survived by his wife, the former Ruth E. Harclerode; also three children: John M. Hillegas of Salisbury; Carolyn Lentz of Phoenix, Ariz.; and Marla (Hillegas) Beachy of Boynton; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Couchenour of Vincennes, Ind.; five brothers: Stanford and Edward, both of Boynton; Jesse of Randolph, Ohio; Russell of Akron, Ohio; and Clyde of Somerset. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ of Salisbury, a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, 1801 of Somerset, a member of Teamsters and Chauffers Local 453 of Cumberland, and was retired from Queen City Dairy Company. Friends were received at Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury, where service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with Dr. H.M. Coughenour, the Rev. Ernest N. Rumbaugh and the Rev. David E. Fetter officiating.
