Member of Knights of Pythias, American Legion Young Budd Post #171 of Westerville, Ohio Farm Bureau. World War II veteran, 149th Engineers. Preceded in death by parents, Milton A. and Clara Livingston) Hillegas; brothers Wilmer and sister Mary Meadows. Survived by loving wife of 55 years, Margaret (DeConnick) Hillegas; daughter and son-in-law Jean and Harold Evans of Galena; granddaughter Kimberly (Marcus) Mann of Westerville; grandson Thomas (Suzanne) Evans of Westerville; great-granddaughters Jessica, Rebecca and Ashley; special friend Carl (Butch) Ritter; brothers Emerson (Margaret) Hillegas of Florida; Richard (Rheta) Hillegas and Roger Hillegas of Pennsylvania; sister Eleanor (Fred) Wagoner of Maryland. Many nieces, nephews and good friends. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Rd., Westerville, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, with visitation one hour prior to service. Pastor L. Wayne Booth officiating. Interment, Tussic Road Cemetery.
