Hillegas, 89, formerly of Boynton, Pa., died June 30, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. She had been a resident of Frostburg Village Nursing Home for 4 years. Born July 6, 1908, in Boynton, she was a daughter of the late Boaz and Savilla (Garlitz) Trent. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward E. Hillegas, Oct 25, 1991. She was a member of Meyersdale Grace Baptist Church, where she participated in the choir and women's group. Also a member of Queen Esther Bible Class, Boynton. Survivors include a son, R. Dean Hillegas, Meyersdale; a daughter, Janet K. Miller, Frederick, Md.; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Meyersdale Grace Bretrhren [sic] Church, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, with Pastor Randy Haulk officiating. Interment, Salisbury Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to either Meyersdale Grace Brethren Church or Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
