Hillegass, 80, of Berlin RD 1 (Roxbury) died Jan. 22, 1995 at home. Born June 27, 1914 in Allegheny Township. Son of Daniel J. and Myrtle (Adams) Hillegass. Preceded in death by parents, daughter Gretchen, brothers Merle and Ray. Survived by: his wife of 59 years, the former Geraldine Frazier; three children, Mona L. Herrell, Somerset, Darlene, married to Harold Knupp, Berlin, and Douglas J. married to the former Debra Bowser, Roxbury; grandchildren, Jorja Croner, Berlin, Jonathan Croner, Brookfield, Vt., S. Duke Herrell, Charlottesville, Va., Desi, Justin and Jared Hillegass, all of Roxbury, and great grandson, Vincent Chalk. Also a brother Clarence of Fairhope. He owned and operated Mountain View Dairy and Potato Farm for 50 years. Past member of Pro-Fac Cooperative. Lifetime member and past deacon of Berlin Brethren Church and member of Berlin IOOF Lodge. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Rev. Bryan G. Karchner. Interment, Berlin IOOF Cemetery.
