    Ronald Martin Hilt, 70, of Somerset Street, Salisbury, died March 12,
  1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.  Born March 14, 1916, in
  Wilmerding.  Son of the late Martin William and Marie Frances (Maran)
  Hilt.  Also preceded in death by a sister, Esther Kukic.  Survived by his
  wife of 43 years, the former Phyllis Maust, whom he married Oct. 30, 1953;
  2 sons: Martin M. and wife Jane P., Crofton, Md.; David A. and wife Trudy
  P., Salisbury; 3 grandchildren: Sara, Stephanie and Michael Hilt.  Member
  of St. John's Lutheran Church.  Served as Sunday school teacher, choir
  member and director for many years.  A 1951 graduate of Duquesne University
  with a B.S. in music.  Employed as a music teacher for Salisbury-Elk Lick
  High School for 41 years.  Also past president of Salisbury Borough Council
  for 20 years.  A veteran of World War II.  Served as Motor Machinist's Mate
  2/C with U.S. Navy.  Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday
  at Newman Funeral Home Inc., Salisbury.  Services will be conducted at 2
  p.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David E. Fetter
  officiating.  Interment, Salisbury Cemetery.  Expressions of sympathy may
  be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church.
