Himes, 65, formerly of Meyersdale, died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 27, 1979 in Newark, Delaware. Born April 20, 1914, in Rockwood, he lived in Newark for two years, was retired from the American Bridge Co., Ambridge, Pa. He was preceded in death by his adopted parents Howard and Cora (Sarver) Himes of Hays Mill and a sister, Eleanor Wilt, of Somerset, and a brother George Sterner, of Somerset. Surviving are his widow, Elizabeth (Hay) Himes, three sons: Kenneth, Midland, Texas; Duane, Berwick; and Jeffrey, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Janell) Belica, Newark, Del.; three grand-daughters; a brother, Willard Sterner, Baden; and two sisters, Mrs. Homer (Fern) Bush, Baden; and Mrs. Theodore (Pauline) Bauman, Glencoe. Memorial services were held in Newark Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Newark, Del. and Ambridge United Presbyterian Church, Ambridge. Interment was in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester. The family suggests memorial contributions in lieu of flowers be made to Newark Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Newark, Del. 19711, or the Heart Fund. The Republic, December 13, 1979 [H1156]
