Hinzy, Sr., 66, of Markleton RD 1, died Feb. 3, 1983, in Somerset Community Hospital. He was born Jan. 4, 1917, in Fort Hill, a son of Harry and Edna A. (Shearer) Hinzy. He is survived by his wife, Carolina (Fednarik) Hinzy, of Markleton RD 1; by nine sons: Homer W. Jr., Somerset; David, Markleton; James, Bridgewarter[sic]; Harry T., Confluence; Larry D., Rochester; Ted, Manassas, Va.; Carl and John, both of McCall, S.C.; Ricki, Markleton; five daughters; Mrs. Dwell Salar, Rockwood; Mrs. Mary E. Phillippi, Bridgewarter[sic]; Mrs. Darlene Lytle, Confluence RD 1; Mrs. Sharon Dwire and Mrs. Jackie Maguder, both of Boyton [sic], Md.; three stepdaughters: Mrs. Lauretta Gazboda, Mrs. Lenora Zelenski and Mrs. Carol Gillon, all of Belle Vernon; one stepson, Thomas Dugan, Confluence; one brother, Ambrose, Warren, Ohio; three sisters: Mrs. Leora May, Markleton Mrs. Nellie Persuhn, Hooversville RD 1; and Mrs. Betty Beal, Central City RD 1; 33 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Bessie (Pyle) Hinzy, Dec. 16, 1976; by his second wife, Julia (Meck) Hinzy, June, 1980; also by two brothers and two sisters. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. Friends were received in the William J. Wood Funeral Home, Rockwood, where services were conducted with his pastor, the Rev.
