Born Feb. 16, 1931 in Berlin. Son of Mary Garner of Greendwood [sic], Ind. Also survived by wife Carolyn (Stewart) Hittie of Indianapolis, Ind. to whom he married Dec. 31, 1954, and four children, Diana Phelps, Fortville, Ind., Sharon Gaskins, Indianapolis, Ind., Joyce Hittie, Mooresville, Ind., Kimberly Burrows, Camby, Ind. Also six grandchildren, a great-grandson, and a step-sister Margie Sutton of Florida. Lived in Decatur Township since 1948. U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War discharged in 1954. He enjoyed feeding the birds and deer, photography, squaredancing [sic], gardening and woodworking. For 32 years, he worked as an auditor for National Tea Co. in Indianapolis, Ind. Friends received from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 to 8:30 a.m., the time of service Wednesday, at Jones Family Mortuary. Interment, Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood, Ind.
