Hittie, 86, Berlin died June 17, 1987, at Maple Mountain Manor. Born May 11, 1901, in Northhampton [sic] Township, son of Herman and Emma (Weisel) Hittie. Preceded in death by parents, son Robert, three sisters and three brothers. Survived by wife, the former Marion Maust, and these children: Mrs. William (Anna Marie) Ghrist of Greensburg; Jay, married to the former Betty Brown of Mercer; Mrs. Roy (Mary Ellen) Hemminger of Somerset; Dwayne, married to the former Marian Barth, Berlin RD 4; and Mrs. Cecil (Janet) Barron, Huston, Pa.; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Brother of Eva Baker, and George Hittie, both of Berlin; and Mary Garner, Indianapolis, Ind. Member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a carpenter for William Baltzer for many years. Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday (today) at the Johnston-Kuhlman Funeral Home where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, the Rev. Ralph E. Mills officiating. Interment, Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his memory to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church would be appreciated. Daily American, June 19, 1987 [H1196]
