Hochard, 79, of 545 Coal Run Rd., Meyersdale, Pa., died Sunday, August 6, 2006, at Beverly Healthcare, Meyersdale. Born May 25, 1927, in Boynton, Pa., he was the son of the late Albert and Ida (Bowers) Hochard. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Sam, Willard, Francis and Carl Hochard and two sisters: Violet Hutzell and Margaret Hutzell. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eleanor J. (Bluebaugh) Hochard; two daughters: Kathy Ringler and Karen Lytle and husband, William, all of Meyersdale; four sisters: Rita Hochard and Betty Lindeman, both of Boynton and Barbara Albright and Sarah Hay, both of Meyersdale; and four grandchildren: Brian Ringler and wife, Tracie, Bruceton Mills, W.Va.; Bethany Robeson and husband, Brian, Greensboro, N.C.; Breanna Ringler, Confluence, Pa. and Casey Lytle, Meyersdale. Mr. Hochard was the retired co-owner and operator of Bittner's Service Station in Salisbury. A U.S. Army veteran of WWII, he was a member of the Salisbury American Legion. He was a member of St. Paul Wilhelm Church, St. Paul, Pa., where he served as an elder and deacon. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Hwy, Salisbury, Pa., Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Services were conducted on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Wilhelm Church with Pastor Tommy Holliday officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment was held at the church cemetery where military graveside rites was accorded by the Salisbury American Legion.
