Hockenberry, 80, of Salisbury, died Dec. 21, 1980, in Lee Hospital, Johnstown. He was born Aug. 23, 1900, in Cherry Twp., Butler County, son of the late J. Mack and Ida Mae (Wadsworth) Hockenberry. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Geraldine Teats, and two brothers, Theodore and William. He is survived by his present wife, the former Maude (Smalley) Hockenberry and two daughters: Mrs. John (Diann) Lihota of Springfield; and Mrs. Merle (Carole) Gearhart of Johnstown; seven grandchildren; one brother, Arthur Hockenberry, Ashland, Ohio; and two sisters: Mrs. Homer (Wilda) Bradshaw of Duarti, Calif.; and Mrs. Fred (Mary Frances) Coleman of Grove City; nine nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Grove Avenue Methodist Church of Moxham. He was a retired salesman with 42 years service from Ginn and Company Textbook Publishers. Friends were received in the Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury, where services were held with the Rev. J. Howard Wright and the Rev. Maurice R. Smith officiating. Interment, Salisbury Cemetery.
