Hocking, III, 64, of Williamsport, died Nov. 15, 1985, at Divine Providence Hospital, Williamsport. He was born Aug. 26, 1921, in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of the late George H. Jr., and Elizabeth Miller Hocking. He is survived by his wife, the former Marie Wellscheid and a sister Mrs. Carolyn H. Kulp, of Montoursville. He was a veteran of the US Navy, WW II, where he was a commander of a L.S.T. in the Pacific Theater; a graduate of Penn State University 1942; attended graduate school at Harvard and Princeton Universities. He was a vice president of Mobil Oil Company and Petro Chemical Division in New York City. He was a member of the University Club, New York City and the National Society of Chemical Engineers. Memorial services were conducted Sunday, Nov. 17 at 3 p.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Andrew France officiating. Interment was Monday Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. at Union Cemetery, Meyersdale under the direction of the Price Funeral Home. The Republic, November 21, 1985 [H1234]
