He was a son of George and Nellie M. (Collins) Hocking and was born in Meyersdale. During the World War he served in France with the American forces. In addition to his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth (Miller) Hocking, he leaves two children, George and Caroline, all of State College, and these sisters and brother: Mrs. Evelyn Sturgess, Oakland, Md.; Mrs. Covell Parsons, Beaver; Mrs. Frank Seibert, Houston, Tex.; Miss Lulu Hocking, and John Hocking, both of Meyersdale. Funeral services were conducted Thursday in Washington. Burial was in the Arlington National Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, September 4, 1941
