Hoffer, 62, Acme RD 1, died early May 20, 1978 at his home. He was born Jan. 30, 1916 in Acme and was a son of Elsie S. (Brown) Hoffer, Acme and the late Henry J. Hoffer. He lived in the Acme area all his life and was a former employee of the Walworth Corp., and a farmer and timber man. He was a member of the Donegal Grange, Pennsylvania Farmers Association and the Mt. Zion Community Church at Acme. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Pansy M. Keefe Hoffer; a daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Carol Lee) Stahl of Acme; a son, William D. of Acme RD 1; five grandchildren; seven brothers, Philson of Greensburg, Kenneth of West Middlesex, Homer of Scottdale, Wilmer of Jones Mills, Robert, Orlando and Ronald, all of Acme RD 1; four sisters, Mrs. Wilmer (Belle) Kreinbrook and Mrs. Luther (Carolyn) Clark of Berlin, Mrs. John (Huldah) Stouffer of Delmont and Mrs. Clyde (Dorothy) Snyder of Acme RD 1. He was predeceased by a sister, Mrs. Harold (Hazel) Rooney in 1975. Funeral services were held at the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home, Indian Head. Interment in Keslar Cemetery in Acme.
