Hoffman, 82, Windber, died Oct. 23, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Nov. 15, 1923, in Paint Borough, son of the late Clyde and Violet (Shearer) Hoffman. Also preceded in death by brothers, John, Robert, Forrest and Kenneth. Survived by wife of 60 years, the former Gertrude Volk; daughters, Nancy, wife of David Grush, Windber; and Pamela, wife of David Koontz, Bedford; and grand-children, Ranee Grush, Eric and Jennifer Koontz. Brother of Clyde, married to the former Reda Mowery; William, married to former Janet Mullen; and Barbara Keirn, all of Windber. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Dave was a self-employed plasterer for nearly 60 years, an Army veteran of World War II, member of Menoher Post 155, VFW and lifelong member of Scalp Level Mount Zion Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Meek and Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber. A service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Scalp Level Mount Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. Eleanor Abarno officiating. Entombment Richland Mausoleum.
