  HOFFMAN
     
     Mrs. Dorothy Hoffman, 48, Stoystown RD 3, was dead on arrival at Somerset
  Community Hospital on Feb. 19, 1974.  Born Dec. 4, 1924 in Somerset County,
  daughter of William and Elsie Stotler Berkebile.  Preceded in death by
  parents and sister Mildred Shaffer.  Survived by husband James S. Hoffman
  and these children: Gary of Petersburg, Va., Jan and Carol, at home, Mrs.
  Walter (Arla Jo) Rizak, Central City; one grandson.  She was a sister of
  Emory, Windber RD 1, Donald, California, Mrs. Elmer (Evelyn) Waggy, Dubois,
  Robert, of Windber.  She was a member of the Geiger Church of the Brethren
  and with her husband operated the Hoffman Nurseries.  Family will receive
  friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Charles R. Deaner Funeral Home,
  Stoystown, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev.
  Gerald E. Definbaugh officiating.  Interment, Berkey Cemetery.
