Hoffman, 86, of Somerset RD 3, died Aug. 17 at his residence. He was born April 24, 1887 in Brothersvalley Township and was the son of the late Phillip and Rosie (Yoder) Hoffman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Jennie Fisher, five brothers, five sisters and four children. He is survived by his widow, the former June Nair Shaulis and these children: Roger, at home, Mrs. Robert (Hazel) Miller, Harrison, Eugene, Elbert, and Kenneth, all of Somerset RD 3, Paul and Elmer Jr., Somerset RD 1, Mrs. Don (Ruby) Miller of Texas, Mrs. Charles (Rosie) Ash, Somerset RD 6, Mrs. Conrad (Leora) Kelly, Somerset RD 5, a stepson, Roy Shaulis of Cochransville, Pa., 45 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Sipesville Church of the Brethren and the UMWA. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Saturday at the Richard E. Haufer (sic.should be Hauger) Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in the Sipesville Church of the Brethren with the Rev. William J. Bean officiating. Interment at the Sipesville Cemetery.
