Hoffman, 64, of Somerset RD 7, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1986, at his residence. Born Dec. 26, 1921, in Somerset Township, son of the late Earl E. and Binnie Grace (Saylor) Hoffman. Also preceded in death by an infant son, Richard; brother, J. Richard; and a sister, Wilma Miller. He is survived by his wife, the former Jean Stutzman; and two sons: Roger L., Somerset RD 1; and Jeffrey L., Bowie, Md.; also three grandchildren. Brother of: Mrs. Clark (Francis) Shaulis, Acosta; Kenneth, Jennerstown; and Harry, Somerset RD 5. He was a member of Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church. A retired maintenance employee from Somerset Community Hospital and a veteran of World War II. He was a life member of the VFW Post No. 554 and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 181, Somerset Lodge No. 358 F&AM, the Altoona Consistory and the Jaffa Temple. Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home with the Rev. George Walton officiating. Interment, Casebeer Lutheran Cemetery. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Somerset Community Hospital Hospice Program.
