  HOFFMAN
  
  George W. Hoffman Ph.D., 81, Sipesville, died Oct. 29, 1987, in Somerset
  Community Hospital.  Born Sept. 29, 1906, in Lincoln Township, son of the
  late Alvah and Laura (Bowman) Hoffman.  Also preceded in death by brother,
  Park.  Survived by his wife, the former Norma L. May; two children: George
  W. Jr., Mechanicsburg; Mrs. Richard M. (Carol Ann) Beemiller,
  Fredericksburg, Va.; five grandchildren and two great-grandsons.  Brother
  of Mrs. Francis (Myra) Smith, Cumberland, Md.  Member of the Christ
  Casebeer Lutheran Church.  Past president of Somerset Rotary Club, past
  president of Somerset Historical and Genealogical Society, board member
  emeritus Someset-Cambria Chapter of American Red Cross.  Friends received
  from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. 
  Service will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Christ Casebeer Lutheran
  Church, with Pastor George Walton officiating.  Interment, Casebeer
  Cemetery.  Contributions may be made to the organ fund of the Christ
  Casebeer Lutheran Church.
