  HOFFMAN
  
  James L. Hoffman, 89, of Somerset, died Aug. 14, 2003, at Windber Medical
  Center.  Born Jan. 8, 1914, in Berlin.  Son of the late Henry and Ida Grace
  (Rile) Hoffman.  Preceded in death by first wife Gladys and grandson Danny
  Shaffer.  Also preceded in death by sisters Mary Sarver, Louella Jerkens
  and Mildred Clark, and brothers Harry, Paul and Bud.  Survived by brother
  Harvey Hoffman, of Somerset.  Survived by three children: daughter Shirley,
  married to Mark Restly of Converse, Texas; son Larry Hoffman of Garrett; son
  Richard, married to the former Alzine Restly of New Baltimore.  Also
  survived by grandchildren Tony and Troy Restly of Converse, Texas; Angie
  Pelar of Berlin; Ashley and Brian Shaffer of Garrett; and Richard and Bryan
  Hoffman of Schellsburg; and Michael and Donald Hoffman of New Baltimore. 
  Private funeral arrangements made by family.
