Born June 1, 1930, in Jenners, son of Joseph W. and Thelma (Cubbage) Hoffman. Preceded in death by parents, brother, Leonard; grand-daughter, Megan; and wife, the former Donna Lease. Survived by children, Joseph, and wife, the former Denise Sebring, Boswell; Richard, and wife, the former Kathy Lambert, Hollsopple; Laura, wife of Richard Boncoski, Jerome; John, married to the former Cindy Cook, Hollsopple; Willard, married to the former Angie Pauici, Hyasota; and David, married to the former Barb Baker, N.C.; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was a brother of Alice Orris, Johnstown; Willard Hoffman, Hollsopple; Ann Lubas, Tire Hill; Kenneth Hoffman, Hollsopple; and Jean McGowan, Steven City, Va. He was a retired coal miner with 45 years service. Member of UMWA 998, Tire Hill, Jerome American Legion Post 903 and Hollsopple VFW 8861. Served two years in the Army Airborne Division during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed his camp in Maryland, a home away from home. Family receiving friends from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville, where a service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. William Wenger officiating.
