Hoffman, 70, Hyndman RD 1, died Dec. 17, 1981 in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. He was born May 17, 1911 in Rossville, Pa., was a son of the late Willis Hoffman and Minnie (Smith) Hoffman. He was a retired employee of the Pennsylvania Social Services and veteran of World War II. He was a member of Palto Alto United Methodist Church and lived in Hyndman for 33 years. He is survived by his widow, Mary (Lipko) Hoffman; four sons, John L. Hoffman, Brunswick, Md.; Richard G. Hoffman, Red Hood, N.Y.; Robert C. Hoffman, Lewisberry; and Joseph M. Hoffman, Hyndman; two brothers, Harry Hoffman, York; and Richard Hoffman, Florida; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home where services were conducted with the Rev. Allyn Ricketts officiating. Interment was Comps Cemetery. The Republic, December 24, 1981 [H1289]
