  HOFFMAN
  
  Martha E. Hoffman, 87, of Lancaster, formerly of Jenner Township,
  Johnstown, and Miami, Fla, died Dec. 16, 1985, in Lancaster.  Born Nov. 13,
  1898, in Mercersburg, daughter of the late Samuel and Susan (Phoenase)
  Unger.  Preceded in death by her husband, John P. Hoffman, Nov. 8, 1974. 
  Survived by these children: Louise, wife of Emmitt W. Simpson, Pittsburgh;
  Eugene C., Lancaster; William E., Killeen, Texas; and John P. Jr., Hot
  Springs, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.  Retired
  from RCA Corp. in Lancaster.  Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
  Thursday in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where service will be
  conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, the Rev. H. James Meyers officiating. 
  Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
