  HOFFMAN
  
    Melda J. Hoffman, 89, formerly of Somerset and Uniontown, died Sept. 29,
  1998 in Kamps Personal Care Home, Markleysburg, Pa.  Born June 16, 1909 in
  Somerset County, a daughter of the late Henry and Lucy (Weigle) Hoffman. 
  Preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters: Virginia Hoover,
  Somerset; Alda Collins, Carrolltown; Olive Golby, Berlin; one foster
  brother, Charles Weigle, California; and a number of nieces and nephews. 
  Member of the Faith Lutheran Church, Somerset.  Friends will be received
  from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where
  service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, with Pastor Randall
  Marburger officiating.  Interment, Wills Cemetery.
