Hoffman, 90, formerly of East Main Street, Somerset, died May 8, 1975, in the Siemon Nursing Home. She was born in Somerset on May 20, 1884, a daughter of John A. and Harriet (Shaffer) Ridinger. Preceded in death by her husband, Walter S., a Somerset mortician for many years who died in 1969. She was a life-long member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Beacon Bible Class and had sung in the church for many years. Graduate of Somerset schools, and the former California State Normal School. She taught school for 25 years in Somerset, Elk Lick, Addison and Jenners Township schools. She was the last surviving member of her family. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home where services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Charles L. Rummel officiating. Interment, Union Cemetery. Somerset American, May 9, 1975 [H1300]
