Hoffman, 69, Somerset RD 3, died June 2, 1985, at Somerset Community Hospital. Born Nov. 27, 1915, in Lincoln Township, son of the late Wilson and Mayme (Gardner) Hoffman. Also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Survived by his wife, the former Alice M. Barron; and these children: Mrs. Glenn (Jennie Lee) Townsend, Berlin RD 4; Larry P. and Mrs. William (Mary Catherine) Lewis, both of Lebo, Kan.; Timothy B., Somerset RD 3; and Mrs. Neal (Nancy) Meyers, Crystal River, Fla.; nine grandchildren. Brother of: Mrs. Vida Heiple, Saltsburg, Pa.; Mrs. Marie Kuhlman, Avonmore, Pa.; Mrs. Ethel Saylor, Johnstown; Mrs. Robert (Ruby) Metzger, Friedens RD 1; Clark W., Somerset RD 3; Floyd, Phoenix, Ariz. Member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, and a retiree of PBS Coal Company. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Walter Startzel officiating. Interment, Lavansville Cemetery. Body will lie in state at the church from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
