  ROBERT F. HOFFMAN
  
    Robert F. Hoffman, 83, Ellerslie, Md., died Thursday, Aug. 24, 1989, at
  Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
    Born Dec. 23, 1905, in Berlin, he was the son of the late Henry and Ida
  Grace (Rile) Hoffman.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie (Moats) Hoffman, in 1972.
    Surviving are one step-daughter, Marilyn Faulkner, Ellerslie, Md.; three
  brothers, James Hoffman, Somerset; Harvey Hoffman, Berlin; and Paul
  Hoffman, Akron, Ohio; and one sister, Mary Sarver, Bedford.
    Graveside services were conducted at Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Monday
  at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Elmer T. Sprinkle.  Interment will follow.
    The George-Upchurch Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
