Hogg, 88, of Fairhope, died Feb. 19, 2004, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Nov. 18, 1915, in Pittsburgh, he is the son of George Jr. and Hazel (St. Clair) Hogg. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George, Richard and James William (Hoag) Hogg, and sisters, Amelia Stevens and Jessica LaTou Boehm. Survived by his wife, the former Velma Jean Cook; children: Joyce, married to George Striker, Freeport; Charlotte Hogg, Washington, D.C., Violet Miller of Arnold, Pamela, married to Larry Rankin of Arnold, Md., Edwin L. Young, married to the former Joyce Deegan, Butler; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister-in-law, Mary Hogg, Serverna Park, Md.; two nieces and one nephew. He was a retired foreman at the 8-3 melt shop for Allegheny Ludlum Corp., Brackenridge. Graduate of Wilkensburg High School class of 1933, and member of the Arnold and Berlin Fire Departments. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed gardening. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Ralph G. Landis officiating. Interment service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday at Union Cemetery, Arnold.
