Holderbaum, 89, a retired hardware merchant and one of Somerset's best-known residents, died Tuesday afternoon at his home at 307 West Church St. He suffered a cerebral hemorrhage last Sunday and had been unconscious since that time. He was proprietor of a hardware store in Somerset for many years prior to his retirement. His entire life was spent in Somerset. His wife, the former Annie Jones of Johnstown, died in 1904. Surviving are six children: Mrs. John S. Miller and John I. Holderbaum, both of Somerset; Mrs. Madge Siebert, Fairmont, W.Va.; Robert P., Buffalo, N.Y.; Mrs. Ethel Savage, Scranton, and Miss Harriet Holderbaum, at home. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Holderbaum was a member of the Methodist Church, the Masonic order and the I.O.O.F. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Holderbaum home by Rev. W. L. Crawford, pastor of the Methodist church. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery.
