Born March 25, 1924, in Fort Hill, a son of the late Marshall and Arminta (Ringer) Hollada. Preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy (Lewis) Hollada, Nov. 14, 1987. Survived by his wife, Wilda F. "Vity" (Stein) Mason Hollada; two daughters, Rina Kemerer and husband, Doug, Essex Junction, Vt., and Diane Slayton and husband, George, Salisbury; two stepsons, Randall Mason, Rock Hill, S.C. and Rick Mason, Listonburg, Pa.; two stepdaughters, Karen Starnes and Kathy Mason, both of Catawba, S.C.; one sister, Miriam Shipley, Corriganville, Md.; two grandsons, Timothy and Andrew Kemerer, one great-grandson, Owen Kemerer; four stepgrandchildren, Randall, Jr.; Leah, Derek and Brad Mason and one stepgreat-grandson, Hayden Mason. Mr. Hollada retired after 30 years as a farmer and 19 years as a truck driver for Keystone Lime Co. After his marriage to "Vity," he attended Maranatha Assembly of God, Grantsville, Md. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served as a technical sergeant. Mr. Hollada was a P.O.W. during the war, and received the Purple Heart for wounds received in service as well as the bronze star. He was a member of the D.A.V. and Salisbury V.F.W. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Newman Funeral Homes P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, Md., where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Butch Morsberger officiating. Interment will be in Maple Glen Cemetery, Fort Hill, where military graveside rites will be accorded by Salisbury V.F.W.
