He was born in Fayette County on March 4, 1889, son of Jesse and Margaret (Christner) Holliday and was 60 years, 5 months and 11 days old. He lived most of his life in Elk Lick Township until about nine years ago, when he moved to Cumberland. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Clara (Blanche) Holliday of Cumberland; one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Baker, Cumberland, three brothers, George Holliday of Meyersdale, Howard Holliday of Somerset and Earl Holliday of Elkton, Md.; one sister, Mrs. Florence Hol?y, Miami, Florida, and six grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted in the Springs Mennonite Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Ressley Tressler officiating. Interment was made in the Springs Cemetery in charge of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, August 18, 1949
