He has been an invalid for more than twenty years. He was born at Fort Hill, Pa., Nov. 6, 1876, a son of Mrs. Mary Gower Holliday. For several years before his health failed he operated a small farm in the Cove section. On Jan. 5, 1900 he married Miss Mary Georg and they were the parents of 13 children. Three sons, Kenneth, Charles and Paul are now deceased. Surviving are his widow, his mother, three daughters, Mrs. Oscar Oester, Detroit, Mich., and June Holliday, at home, who are twins, and Martha Holliday, at home; seven sons, Wendell and Stanley Holliday, who are in the military service, Raymond Holliday, Brooklyn, N.Y., John Holliday, Somerfield, Pa., Fred Holliday, Guard, Richard Holliday, Morgantown, W.Va., and Eugene Holliday, Accident; two sisters, Mrs. Austin Snyder and Miss Myrtle Holliday, and five brothers, Edward, Russell, Arthur, Scott and Clarence Holliday, this section. At an early age Mr. Holliday united with the German Lutheran Church at Cove, from where funeral services were conducted Friday morning. The Rev. H. C. Fickenscher, pastor, officiated, and interment was in the Cove Cemetery under the direction of William Winterberg, local mortician. Meyersdale Republican, June 4, 1942
