(Sandy) 05/19/06 Daily American Eugene W. "Sandy" Holman, 81, of Indian Lake died May 17, 2006, at home. Born Oct. 31, 1924, in Wilson, N.Y., son of the late William and Julia (Schultz) Holman. Survived by his wife of 59 years, the former Jeanne Morgan; and sons, Larry and wife Christine, Leesburg, Va.; and Sprouts, Bangalore, India. He is a World War II Army Air Corps veteran serving as a P51 fighter pilot with the Flying Tigers in China. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees from Alfred University and later served on its board of trustees. He retired from Pittsburgh-Corning Corp. after 35 years, during which time he started their international manufacturing operation in Belgium, and became the vice president of manufacturing in the United States. He was active in many organizations and a diligent supporter of Indian Lake, which he loved. He was a former mayor and borough council president, and was an original founder of Indian Lake Golf Club. There will be no visitation or viewing. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
