Garrett St., Somerset, died Jan. 4, 1993 [sic]*, at Somerset Hospital. Born July 25, 1925, in Roaring Spring, Pa. Son of the late James Henry and Fredda Alice (Schiffler) Holsinger. Survived by his wife, the former R. Elaine Hay; daughter, Mrs. William A. (Gaye) Barron, Somerset; son, Grant W. Holsinger, married to the former Debi Miller, Berwyn, Ill.; three grandchildren, Andrew and Lance Barron and Hollyn Holsinger; brother, J. Garwood Holsinger, Lewistown, Pa. Retired in 1984 with 36 years service in the Somerset Area Schools as music teacher and retired as Somerset Junior High School principal. Graduate of the Pennsylvania Military Academy. Received his bachelor's degree in 1948 from Juniata College and master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, where he was organist for 42 years; Paul Harris Fellow of the Somerset Rotary Club; Somerset Lodge 358, F&AM; Jaffa Shrine; and Altoona Consistory. Active in Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees. Active in various community music services and programs. Board member of the Mary S. Biesecker Library. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Keith M. Fink and the Rev. Roger L. Forry officiating, and the Rev. Dr. William T. Doncaster Jr. and the Rev. Jay L. Christner, assisting. Interment, Pike Cemetery, Brotherton.
