Holsopple, 90, Somerset, died May 27, 2007 at Somerset Hospital. Born June 16, 1916, in Boswell, the son of Ira and Mary (Pyle) Holsopple. Preceded in death by parents; wife of 61 years, the former Dorothy L. Christner, Sept. 17, 1999; great-granddaughter, Colby Osselburn; sisters, Mildred Williams and Elizabeth Griffith; brothers, Harold, Robert and Theodore Holsopple; and infant brothers, Percy and Melvin Holsopple. Survived by daughters, Carol, married to William Osselburn and Kristin, married to Todde Hostetler, both of Somerset; grandchildren, William Osselburn and wife, Julie, Jeffrey Osselburn and wife, Margaret, Timothy Osselburn and wife, Connie, Eric Osselburn, and wife, Barb, Kristin (Osselburn) and husband, Scott Lohr, Danny Stoner and wife, Lori, Korey Stoner and wife, Margaret, Shari (Hostetler) and husband, Brett Weimer, and Krystal Hostetler and fiancˇ, Dylan Burrows; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Holsopple, Martha Christner, and Julia Farkosh, all of Somerset. Lifetime best friend, Chester "Chet" Blank, Somerset, who was also Don's golfing partner and at one time, they barbered together. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II . Was a local barber for 69 years and owned and operated Don's Barber Shop, Somerset. Member of First Christian Church, Somerset; Somerset Aerie 1801, FOE and Somerset Post 554, VFW. An avid golfer, bowler and fisherman. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Viewing from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell. Pastor Daniel Nicksich officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park. Graveside military rites by Somerset County Honor Guard. Donations in Don's memory may be given to First Christian Church, 139 E. Main St., Somerset, PA 15501.
