Holsopple, 79, Sunny Acres Somerset, died Nov. 4, 2000 at Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown. Born April 17, 1921 in Boswell, son of Ira I. and Mary M. (Pyle) Holsopple. Preceded in death by parents; brothers Percy P.; Robert R.; Melvin M.; and Harold H.; sisters Mildred M. Williams; and Elizabeth E. Griffith. Survived by wife, the former Dorothy E. Warren; daughter Mary E. Pickard of Web City, Mo.; granddaughter Jordan Heather Pickard; brother Donald D. of Somerset; sister-in-law Lois Myers of Sipesville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of Mt. Laurel United Church of Christ, Somerset Post 554 VFW, D.A.V., Jenner Rod and Gun Club, and Iron Workers Local Number 3 Pittsburgh. A 1940 graduate of the former Boswell High School. An army veteran of WWII having served in the South Pacific. Structural iron worker for over 35 years. Also a well-known local dairy farmer. Observed 53rd wedding anniversary May 1, 2000. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Joseph M. Beer officiating.
