ERNEST H. HOLT

Ernest Harry Holt, 80, of 607 Patterson Avenue, Cumberland, MD, died Saturday, 
October 26, 1991, at Memorial Hospital.  Born July 4, 1911, in Barrelville, he 
was the son of the late Joseph Moody Holt and Josephine (Retzer) Holt.  He was 
preceded in death by his first wife, Mamie (Gray) Holt, in 1948; and by a 
brother, Adrian M. Holt.  Mr. Holt retired from the Kelly-Springfield Tire 
Company as a foreman in the tread room.  He was a member of the Barrelville, 
Presbyterian Church, where he held numerous offices; and was a member of the 
Cumberland Aerie 245 Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Fraternal Order of Police 
90.  Surviving are his wife, Susan G. (Stevanus) Holt; two daughters:  JoAnn 
Crislip, LaVale, MD; and Wanda Floto, Charlotte NC; two sisters, Mary Roberts 
and Leanna Boland, LaVale MD; three brothers:  Roger Holt, Butler; Allen Holt, 
Cumberland, MD; and Ronald Holt, LaVale MD; four grandchildren, and three great 
grandchildren.  Friends were received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary 
in LaVale, Monday.  Services were held there Tuesday with Dr. Charles Orlick, 
the Rev. Karin Nurnberger and the Rev. Kenneth Stevanus officiating.  Interment, 
Salisbury Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Allen Holt Jr., Donald Fishel, David 
Fishel, Glenn Roberts, and Richard Holt, all nephews of the deceased; and John 
Butterfield, Jerry Boland, also a nephew of the deceased served as honorary 
pallbearer.
