(Lefty) Hook, 64, of Englewood, Fla., formerly of Vermilion, Ohio, and also Boynton, died April 27, 1979 at home. Born August 27, 1914 in Meyersdale, he was the son of the late Charles and Amanda (Swearman) Hook. He is survived by his wife, the former Arretta May and two children: Mrs. Patricia Thompson of Avon Lake, Ohio, and one son, Thomas Hook of Uniontown, Ohio; also four grandchildren and three brothers: Fred of Belle Vernon; Woodrow of Hanford, Cal.; Paul of West Newton; also two sisters: Mrs. Clara Knieriem of Johnstown and Mrs. Mary Houston of Meyersdale. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Englewood, a retired electrician of the Ford Motor Company, a member of the Meyersdale Lodge No. 554, F.&A.M., member of the Cleveland Consistory, a member of the Al Koran Shrine of Cleveland. Friends were received at the Thomas Funeral Home Salisbury, where services were held with the Rev. Ernest N. Rumbaugh officiating. Interment Salisbury Cemetery. The Republic, May 3, 1979 [H1474]
