  ALVA W. HOOPENGARDNER
  
    Alva W. Hoopengardner, 73, of RD 1, Bean's Cove, Flintstone, died June
  18, 1980 in Bedford County Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient
  one day.  He had been in ill health several years.
    He was born at Hancock, and was a son of the late Alva W. Hoopengardner
  Sr. and Della Blanche (Smith) Hoopengardner.
    He was a retired construction worker and was a member of Seven Dolors
  Catholic Church, Bean's Cove.
    He is survived by his widow, Clara Mae (Miller) Hoopengardner; two
  daughters, Mrs. Rose Wilhelm, RD 3, Bedford; Mrs. Della Spencer, Keyser,
  W.Va.; a son, Emory (Pete) Miller, RD 3, Cumberland, Md.; three brothers,
  Ralph Hoopengardner, RD 1, Flintstone; Wilson Hoopengardner, Spartansburg,
  S.C.; Ernest Hoopengardner, Confluence, and five grandchildren.
    Friends were received at the Silcox-Merritt Funeral Home.
    Services were conducted in the funeral home.  Interment was in the Seven
  Dolors parish cemetery.
