He was born Feb. 25, 1913, in Somerset County, son of George W. and Ida (Dickey) Hoover. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Irene Hoover, Rockwood; by two sons: Earl W. Hoover Jr., Blairsville; and Albert Hoover, York; one stepson, Harry C. Boden, of Griffin, Ga.; by two daughters: Mr. Paul (Shirley) Yoder, Middletown; and Mrs. Reba Dunklebrogt, of Dover, Del.; two stepdaughters: Mrs. Aldin (Dorothy) M. Berkley, Rockwood RD 1; and Mrs. Fred (Caroline) Harkcom, Garrett RD 1; two sisters: Mrs. Cletus (Margaret) Ross, Central City; and Mrs. Clark (Myrtle) Bell, Bakersville; 14 grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Old-Timers Baseball Team of Somerset. Friends were received in the William J. Wood Funeral Home, Rockwood, where services were conducted with the Rev. Dwight Yinkey officiating. Interment to follow in Sanner Lutheran Church Cemetery. The Republic, July 1, 1982 [H1489]
