Hoover, one of the leading citizens of Hooversville, died suddenly in his garden Friday evening of heart disease. Mr. Hoover was appointed Justice of the Peace by Governor Pattison in 1891 and proved himself to be such a satisfactory official that the voters of that place keep him in office continuously hear after, despite the fact that he was an uncompromising Democrat while Hooversville is a Republican district. Squire Hoover was well known all over the county. He is survived by his wife and several brothers and sisters. Meyersdale Commercial, July 20, 1916
