The lad was swimming with scores of others. No one saw him go down, and it was not until late in the evening when his clothing was found on the river shore, that it became known that a life had been lost. He was reported missing early Thursday morning and in a little more than an hour his body was recovered. Coroner Neal expressed the opinion that the boy was attacked with cramps. His body was found 15 feet from the diving board. The victim of the drowning had been making his home with his uncle, W. M. Weyrick, in Bellaire. He formerly made his home with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Speicher, at Accident, Md. His mother resides at Lumberport, W.Va. The youth had been employed for the past two years as a truck driver for Henry Heil's Son's Store. Besides his mother he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Thelma Hester of Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Cleo Wilcox, of Clarksburg, W.Va., and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Speicher, of Accident, Md., a step-father, a half-sister, two half-brothers, five aunts, three uncles and a host of friends. His body was brought to the home of his grandparents here on Friday evening. Lloyd Cortes Hoover was born in 1912 and was aged 17 years and 10 months. At the age of 12 years he was confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Bittinger by Rev. Campbell. He attended the Accident High School and was graduated with the Class of 1928. After that time he lived in Bellaire, Ohio. The funeral service was held in the Accident Lutheran Church on Saturday afternoon, and was conducted by Rev. E. E. Campbell, of Bittinger, with interment in the Bittinger Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, July 31, 1930
