  MELVIN A. HOOVER
  
    Melvin A. Hoover, 72, of RD 1, Grantsville, Md., died Aug. 27, 1988, at
  Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
    Born in Jennings, Md., Aug. 28, 1915, he was a son of the late Oliver J.
  and Nancy (Bittinger) Hoover.
    He was employed in the spinning and dye department of the Celanese
  Corporation and was a member of the Maranatha Assembly of God Church.
    He is survived by his widow, Wilda (Lowery) Hoover; two sons, Oliver
  Hoover and Melvin Fazenbaker, both of Grantsville, Md.; one daughter, Miss
  Melva Hoover, Grantsville, Md.; one sister, Mrs. Hazel Randall, Frostburg,
  Md., and seven grandchildren.
    Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, where services were
  conducted Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William Martin officiating. 
  Interment, Johnson Cemetery.
