Hoover, 72, of Hyndman RD 2, formerly of Garrett RD 1, died Aug. 14, 1974, in Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born in Garrett, Feb. 15, 1902, he was a son of the late Abraham and Rebecca (Sanner) Hoover. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Hazel Swarner, and six brothers and sisters. Surviving are his second wife, the former Mary Fichtner, and these sons and daughters: Mrs. Robert (Louise) Reich, Meyersdale RD 1; Donald, Meyersdale RD 4; Dale Hoover and Mrs. Donald (Irene) Decker, Berlin RD 4; also five step-children, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was a brother of Mrs. Mabel Ray, Garrett; Mrs. Elizabeth Bush, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Martha Hoopes, Chardon, Ohio; and Calvin Hoover of Rockwood. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA. Funeral service was held Saturday morning in Johnson and Son Funeral Home, Berlin, with Rev. Lloyd Sechriest officiating.
