All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ SUSAN HOOVER Funeral of Mrs. Susan Hoover Mrs. Susan (Hemminger) Hoover, aged 85, widow of James Hoover, Civil War veteran, died early Thursday morning, October 24, at the home of her son, Richard, in Garrett. She was ill for only a few days, and died from infirmities of old age. Up to the last week she did her own housework and frequently was shopping in town. She was the oldest person in town. Surviving are these children: Mrs. Lizzie Kimmel of Jasonville, Ind., Mrs. Bertha Haywood of Valier, Ill., Adella Hoover of Somerset, Harrison Hoover of Mankato, Minn., Earl Hoover and Richard Hoover of Garrett. A number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Garrett Lutheran Church with interment in the local cemetery.
